About Alnwick Castle

Alnwick Castle is known as ‘Windsor of the North’, as it is the second largest inhabited castle in the United Kingdom and is the ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland

Dating back as far as 1309, it has been resident to the Percy family for the last 700 years.

Recognised recently as the film location of Harry Potter, this medieval castle stands on the outskirts of Alnwick, a picturesque market town voted the best place to live in Britain, ‘Country Life Magazine 2002’.
