 About Bamburgh Castle
This magnificent stone built fortress dating back to the 1st Century BC commands a stunning position on the wonderful Northumberland coast overlooking the North Sea.
It has strong links to Henry II and William II and in its time was the first castle to suffer severe canon damage, resulting in a major refurbishment over the 18th and 19th Century.
It was sold to Lord Armstrong in 1894 and continues to be the home of the Armstrong family.
